Cyber resilience

The definition of cyber resilience is ‘the ability to adequately deal with serious breaches of technical and/or organisational security measures’. This can be reached with education, training and practice (ETP).

Z‑CERT has combined the insights and experiences of various specialists into a methodology for Education, Training and Practice. This methodology allows you to easily gain insight into your maturity in relation to this theme.

This methodology enables you to better determine which type of practice is appropriate for your organisation. This allows you to get more out of cyber exercises!

Education, training, practice

Education

Developing cyber resilience starts with developing knowledge. This includes basic knowledge about what cyber resilience includes and the various roles and tasks required to achieve it.

Training

Logically, different cyber resilience roles require different skills. These skills can be developed through training.

Practice

Cyber resilience practices involve applying knowledge and skills in practice, thereby establishing a certain routine. This routine is essential for effective cyber resilience.

How cyber resilient is your organisation?

Would you like an indication of your organisation's cyber resilience? Take a look at the back of the digital beer mat below to see which organisation your organisation most resembles and check the result against the ambition thermometer. Are there any differences? If so, your organisation probably has some development needs in the area of cyber resilience.

Development is tailor-made

The development path is different for every organisation. It depends on the current level of maturity and the target level to be achieved. The difference between these two is the development need. An development plan sets out the education, training and exercise activities planned to achieve the target level.

The maturity level of cyber resilience (people and processes) and cybersecurity (technology) must be aligned for optimal effectiveness.
